To level the playing field and make on-line shopping both convenient and affordable for Canadians, we cut the fat.  We lightened logistics to suit our vast landscape and enviably small population.

We started with the standard retail pricing formula and worked backwards in favour of the consumer, creating an extra-lean, value-added, business model.   We can do this because:

• We offer Canadian consumers products that are typically sold direct-to-trade (restaurants, bakeries, commercial kitchens), and we package in value-added bulkpacks.
• We have light infrastructure and can grow our business on smaller margins.

For Canadians shopping on-line, purchasing goods from traditional store-front retail websites, the distributor and operating cost mark-ups can really add up.  And for folks living outside of major urban centres, in the country or in small towns, or who are too busy or unable to shop in person, that's a high price to pay for convenience.  

Our goal first and foremost is to provide you with an excellent on-line resource and community of like-minded Canadians and lovers of the Canadian culinary tradition.  Second, we pledge outstanding value on a small selection of authentically unique Chef at Hand brand and other premium commercial-grade products - bulk-packaged for extra savings, where possible.   And finally, we will deliver your order to you quickly after processing (3-day expedited service, in most cases), pretty much anywhere in Canada served by Canada Post.  Beats the cost of gas, and driving to the store.  In Vancouver, call about no-cost pick-up or delivery.

As we grow our business and economies of scale, we can further lower our prices and pass those savings along to you.   That's fair.  That's Canadian!
