Best Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

This is the easiest and best hot chocolate we've made, for the money.  Kids of all ages love it - especially at Halloween and during the holiday season.  Not too sweet, but sweet enough to make everyone smile.  For parties or buffets, make double or triple batches, rest a ladle in the pot, and set it out for self-service.

• 4 cups milk or half-and-half
• 3 squares (ounces) semi-sweet baking chocolate, shaved
• 1/8 cup icing sugar (melts quickly)
• Chocolate shavings to garnish, or a few twists of DM Toasted Sugar & Spice (optional)

Methodology

Place all ingredients in a pot on the stove and heat on medium, until hot.  Top with whipped cream if desired.
